Three arrested for allegedly firing bullets into home
MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. - Three people were arrested for criminal recklessness after they allegedly fired shots that unintentionally struck a nearby residence, according to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.
At 7:43 p.m. on Friday, Marshall County dispatch got a call about a residence being hit multiple times by bullets in the 19000 block of 4B Road.
According to the caller, one of the bullets hit the bedroom window where his children were sleeping and glass broken by a bullet had injured one of his kids.
When deputies arrived in the area, they found three people shooting in the 4000 block of Thorn Road.
The individuals did not have a sufficient backstop to shoot semi-automatic rifles toward the victim's home, according to the investigation.
The following three people were arrested on a charge of criminal recklessness shooting a firearm into an inhabited structure:
- Donovyn Carmack, 22, of Mishawaka
- Dalton Carmack, 25, of Mishawaka
- Kendric Emerson, 32, of Plymouth
They are being held at the Marshall County Jail on a $1,505 cash bond.
