Three-car crash on CR 37 and SR 4 sends three to the hospital
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – A three-car crash taking place at the intersection of CR 37 and SR 4 sends four people to area hospitals for their injuries on Saturday, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office said.
Just after noon, a 2002 Ford Escape was driving north on CR 37, approaching the intersection of CR 37 and SR 4. The second vehicle involved, a 2017 Subaru Legacy, was driving through that intersection.
The driver of the Ford allegedly ignored the stop sign, drove through the intersection and hit the Subaru’s driver side rear, deputies said.
The driver of the Ford then lost control of the car, and crashed into a 2020 RAV-4 that was stopped at the intersection as well.
The driver and passenger of the Subaru were transported to the hospital for their injuries. The front passenger of the Toyota was also transported to the hospital for her injuries.
The driver of the Ford was not injured, but deputies cited her for disregarding the stop sign, according to the report.
