SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Fire Department is investigating three fires that happened in the same neighborhood just before midnight Thursday.
The fires happened at the following addresses within an hour of each other.
- 700 Block of Jackson Street (garage)
- 400 Block of S. Philippa Street (vacant home)
- 500 Block of S. Grant Street (mattress and garbage)
South Bend Police said the fire on Grant Street fire was deemed intentional.
The fire in the 700 block of Jackson Street was so hot it burned the siding on the owner's home and the home next door. The garage was destroyed.
Fire investigators were on scene Friday looking for evidence.
The residents of the Jackson Street house said they have no power and it won't be back on again until Monday.
