Three injured when car strikes pole in Syracuse

SYRACUSE, Ind. -- Three people were injured when a car struck a utility pole on CR29 near CR54 around 1:30 a.m. Monday.

Police said the car was driving southbound on CR29 when it struck the pole.

Because the steering wheel had been changed, no airbag was available for the driver.

The pole broke off at the base and was held up by the wires.

One of the victims was transported to the hospital by helicopter. The other two were taken by ambulance to Goshen Hospital.
