Three men arrested following traffic stop

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Three men were arrested and charged after police conducted a traffic stop on their vehicle, according to court records.

On Wednesday, a South Bend Police officer saw Jershawn Harris driving a black Chevy Impala. The officer confirmed Harris did not have a driver's license and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at Indiana and Michigan street, reports said.

The people in the car included Harris, Paige Taylor and Rahaam Oliver, police said.

Officers said they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle, so they conducted a search of the vehicle.

During the search, police located a Glock 21 .45-caliber handgun in the glove box, 112 grams of a substance that field tested positive for marijuana in the back seat, and a Kel-Tek 9 mm handgun and drum magazine in a bag in the vehicle, according to the probable cause affidavit.

All three were transported the department to be interviewed.

Harris confirmed the Glock and KelTek guns were his. Taylor said he handled the Glock on Brookfield Street earlier in the day, reports said.

Harris and Taylor have prior convictions for carrying a handgun without a license, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Taylor has been charged with unlawful carrying of a handgun.

Harris has been charged with knowingly or intentionally operating a motor vehicle without receiving a license and unlawful carrying of a handgun.

Oliver has been charged with possession of marijuana.
