Three men rob South Bend homeowner at gunpoint on front porch

SOUTH BEND, Ind -  South Bend Police said a homeowner was robbed at gunpoint by three men on his front porch late Wednesday, while his wife and grandkids were inside the house.


Police responded to the armed robbery around 10 p.m. Wednesday, on the 3000 block of Frederickson St., near Goodland Avenue.

Officers said the homeowner was walking towards his front door with a friend, when one man came running from the west side of the house, and two others from the east side of the home.

According to police reports, all three men had guns, and one of the robbers took the victim’s house keys, car keys, and cell phone.

The victim told police one of the masked men threatened to shoot him, and tried to get into the house through the front door.

Police said the victim’s wife thought her husband and his friend were joking around with his friend, and tried to open the front door. But, officers said before the robbers could get inside, a car pulled up, and all three ran towards Goodland Avenue.

The homeowner told police he did not recognize any of the suspects.

No arrests have been made in connection to the armed robbery.
