Three-vehicle crash sends three children to hospital Monday

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- One driver failing to yield at a Marshall County intersection on Monday afternoon resulted in a three-vehicle crash that sent five people to the hospital, three of whom were children.

Authorities say the call came in around 3:37 p.m. on Monday of a crash at the intersection of U.S. 6 and Quince Road.

"When officers arrived on scene, it was learned that a west facing 2008 Chevy Silverado ... was stopped on U.S. 6, waiting to turn south onto Quince Road," authorities said.  "A 2019 GMC Terrain, driven by Jessica Sheaks of Walkerton, was traveling west and failed to yield to the stopped Silverado and rear ended the pickup truck."

That collision pushed the Silverado into the east bound lane, where it was struck by an east bound 2017 Chevy Silverado.

Officers said five people were transported to a local hospital, including three children.
