All westbound lanes of the I-80/90 Toll Road have reopened. Indiana State Police shut down a stretch of the westbound lanes near mile marker 58 because of a crash Tuesday morning.
Police say a semi trailer truck driver didn't realize how slow a snow plow was traveling in front of him, and he couldn't slow down in time to keep from crashing into him. The impact pushed the plow into the guard rail and badly damaged the rear of the vehicle.
Both drivers were taken to hospitals with minor injuries from the crash.
State police want to remind drivers to give plows plenty of room, at least 300-feet if you're behind them in the same lane. Or they suggest switching to the passing lane to prevent accidents.
