Toyota, GM announce safety recalls

Toyota is recalling 2.5 million of the Prius models.

There's a problem with the steering shaft and electric powered motor pumps, which will prevent the car from switching into hybrid mode.

Toyota will be sending letters to owners affected next month.

General Motors is recalling Cadillac, Buick, and Chevy cars for safety concerns. 2013 Cadillac Sedans have trouble with the rear seat head restraints. They may not lock into place.

In all nearly 13,000 cars are affected, the 2012 Buick Verano, Chevy Cruze and Chevy Sonic cars are recalled for air bags that may not work.

There are about 3,000 cars linked to that recall.
