Trackchair purchased for Potato Creek State Park for guests with mobility disabilities

NORTH LIBERTY, Ind. - A new trackchair has been purchased for Potato Creek State Park, giving wheelchair users and those with mobility disabilities the chance to explore the park's trails.

The chair can be borrowed from the park’s nature center and features joystick-operating equipment, a seatbelt and arm and leg rests.

Specifically designed for Potato Creek’s trails, the latest addition marks the 15th trackchair in an Indiana state park. Other chairs are available at the following parks:

  • Chain O’Lakes
  • Charlestown
  • Fort Harrison
  • Mounds
  • O’Bannon Woods
  • Pokagon
  • Spring Mill
  • Salamonie Lake
  • Indiana Dunes (four chairs)
  • McCormick’s Creek (two chairs)

The newest chair was purchased with a grant from Ford’s Bronco Wild Fund, an organization that works toward accessibility, preservation and connecting people to the outdoors.

Potato Creek State Park is located at 25601 State Road 4 in North Liberty.
