Tractors, barn destroyed by fire in Dowagiac

DOWAGIAC, Mich. -- Three tractors and a barn were destroyed by flames after the barn on Fosdick Street, east of O'Keefe Street, caught fire Friday morning.

According to the Wayne Township Assistant Fire Chief, crews were called out to the scene around 4 a.m. to find the structure fully engulfed in flames.

He said it only took about 15 minutes for the barn to collapse.

There were no animals inside the barn. However, three tractors were destroyed.

The owner said a new roof was just installed, too.

Fire officials say they may not be able to determine the cause of the fire due to the age of the building.
