Traffic alerts for several St. Joseph County roads announced

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – Officials in St. Joseph County announced that railroad crossings on Cleveland and Anderson Roads will be closed down for repairs beginning on Saturday.

The closures are expected to last for at least 2 weeks.

Cleveland Road just east of Capital Avenue will close down and Anderson Road between Bittersweet and Cherry Roads will also close down.

The Cleveland Road detour will utilize Bittersweet Road and Capital Avenue to State Road 23.

Crews will also perform road work on Douglas Road between Ironwood Road and State Road 933.

Officials say that the road will remain open for the time being. A decision to close the road will come if working conditions are determined to be too hazardous for workers.

Work will be performed on and around all three roundabouts in that area.

Work on Douglas Road is anticipated to last for a week.
