Transpo and Interurban Trolley announce return of K-12 summer travel program

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The South Bend Public Transportation Corporation and the Interurban Trolley will once again be offering the free K-12 Summer Travel Program to students this June, July, and August.

The Summer Travel Program provides unlimited travel for K-12 students accessing employment, educational, and recreational opportunities.

First launched in 2013 as a discounted travel program, the program has been offered at no charge since 2018. In 2019, the program expanded to include the Interurban Trolley to serve the cities of Goshen and Elkhart.

To be eligible for free travel on any of the Transpo or Interurban Trolley fixed routes, students just need to show a valid student ID each time they board a bus.

Homeschooled students or students whose schools don’t provide ID cards can contact Transpo’s office at 574-232-9901 or visit the Transpo Information Booth at South Street Station to get a pass.

Visit Transpo on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for the latest information on summer travel.
