TRANSPO's new bus routes go into effect

SOUTH BEND, Ind. –- The South Bend Public Transportation Corporation’s new route changes went into effect on Monday morning.

TRANSPO approved a plan that now reduces the number of routes. And nine buses will be taken away from the fleet.

Most routes will be impacted by the changes in some form. The most significant changes are on routes 1, 2, 5, and 13.

Passengers with mobility concerns who are unable to make their way to a fixed route are asked to notify TRANSPO. They say ACCESS para-transit service could be a possible alternative.

For more information, passengers can call the Information Line at (574) 233-2131. Lines are answered from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
