Travel advisories issued for Indiana counties

Multiple Indiana counties have been placed under travel advisories by emergency management agencies due to inclement weather on Monday.

St. Joseph, Marshall and Starke counties has been placed on a “watch” local travel status level. At this level, county emergency management agencies recommend only essential travel, such as to and from work, or during emergency situations.

It is also recommended that emergency action plans for businesses, schools, government agencies, and other organizations should be put into place at the “watch” level.

Elkhart, Kosciusko, Fulton, LaPorte, LaGrange and Pulaski counties are among the Indiana counties that have been placed under the “advisory” local travel status level. This is the lowest level of traffic status levels, but individuals should use caution and avoid hazardous areas.
