Tree falls onto vehicle driving down the road

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single vehicle accident on Decatur Road Thursday morning. The driver was traveling on Decatur Road when a tree fell on the road and onto her vehicle.

The driver suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment.

Her passenger, a 91-year-old Niles resident, sustained a head injury and was taken to Bronson Kalamazoo by Pride Care ambulance.

Cass County Road Commission removed the tree from the roadway.

Both occupants were wearing seatbelts.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, deputies said.
