NOW: Tri-Way Drive-In Theatre back open for season

PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- The Tri-Way Drive-In Theatre in Plymouth celebrated it’s first night back in business for the season! The box office opened a bit earlier than expected due to long lines, but movie goers didn’t mind - they were just excited to get a chance at a normal ‪Friday night‬.

You know it’s been a rough year because of COVID and I’m just glad to be here for the first week of Godzilla VS. Kong is coming out and you know some family time,” said Theatre Guest, Evan Cook.

Owner David Kinney was grateful to celebrate the 2021 opening date by bringing back a fun experience for the community.

“It’s rather exciting to see such a turnout for our opening night. Unfortunately our concession stand is closed right now because we didn’t have employees that showed up,” said Kinney.

The start of the season was long awaited by movie lovers who have been visiting for years.

“It’s been the same ever since I was a kid so it’s kind of cool to like bring new people here every time,” said Theatre Guest Alexis Schweinzger.

“You get quite a bit of time before movies so you get a lot of quality like family time and me being a movie buff I like to come and see movies. It takes me back to like a certain past,” said Theatre Guest, Camryon Cook.

While COVID precautions like mask wearing and social distancing are still in place - the theatre will bring the same variety of genres for every movie lover to enjoy.

“I really like the concept of it. Bringing the community together still I think it’s gonna be enough space to keep people space,” said Theatre Guest, Lucas Shaner.

There is no end date for the season at this time - but ownership says make sure to arrive early because it is first-come first-serve.
