Trial for teen accused of killing toddler rescheduled

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A teenager charged in the shooting death of a South Bend toddler appeared in court Monday morning.

The judge granted Cedric Washington Jr.'s request to delay the trial.

It has been rescheduled for mid-November.

Washington is one of 8 suspects accused in the shooting death of John Swoveland Jr. who was killed by a stray bullet while playing in his aunt's front yard on Campeau Street in April.
