Troopers find body while searching for missing person

Skyler Naugle

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ind. -- While searching for a man who was last seen on July 16, Indiana State Troopers found a body.

The Washington County Sheriff's Department requested ISP's help Monday in searching for 35-year-old Skyler Naugle who was reported missing on July 21, but hadn't been seen since July 16.

As part of their search, troopers went to 7707 East New Cut Road in Little York. While speaking with an occupant of the residence, they gained enough information to believe Naugle had been to the property.

Troopers obtained permission to search the property from the owner and obtained a search warrant.

In a wooded area near the home, troopers located a body. An autopsy is planned for Wednesday to determine the identity and cause of death.

Police say there is a possibility the body is Naugle, but until the body is identified, they are continuing to search for him.

If you have any information about the body or know Naugle's whereabouts, you're asked to call the Indiana State Police at 1-800-872-6743 or the Washington County Sheriff’s Department at 812-883-5999.
