Twin Branch Elementary students honor veterans with parade

Students at Twin Branch Elementary School paid tribute to veterans on Veterans Day with a very special program.

The students sang patriotic songs and had a parade around Twin Branch Park. Mayor Dave Wood led the parade.

“I like Veterans Day because that’s when you can show and honor all the veterans," said student Violet Russell.

Mayor Wood says he attends many events honoring veterans but this one was extra special.

“This one was very heartfelt. This was very special. It just really set the tone of the day for me," Mayor Wood said.

One of the students said he just learned he has veterans in his family.

“My grandma just told me today that I have a whole family line of veterans. I’m excited to do this in front of all the veterans out there that helped us," said student Dominick Wilson.
