Two confirmed cases of meningitis in Indiana, both in Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind. -- A health alert!

There are two confirmed cases of meningitis in Indiana.

They are  tied to a nationwide case of contaminated steroid viles.

Both of those infected were treated at the OSMC Outpatient Surgery Center in Elkhart.

It's one of six facilities in Indiana that received those viles and the facilities have spent the day notifying people.

Patients who were at risk for infection received the steroid shots from July 1st until today.

The six clinics who received contaminated batches of steroid medication have notified all of those patients and are advising them to seek medical attention if they're experiencing flu-like symptoms.

ABC 57's Meghan Schiller reports.
