Two houses go up in flames in South Bend at the same time

SOUTH BEND, IN - A house fire was reported at 242 East Indiana Street just after 9 p.m.

The fire was contained to the basement.

ABC 57 News has learned that the house was vacant and has been on fire before.

Those on the scene believe that the fire was set on purpose.

Just 10 minutes later a house went up in flames for the 6th time at 1617 Carroll Street.

Crews are on the scene fighting that fire as well.

There is a scene at both fires right now. We are told no one lives in either home and no injuries were reported.

We have not been able to confirm/deny that the fires are in anyway connected.

We have a crew heading to the fire on Carroll Street right now.

Stay with ABC 57 News as we continue to follow this developing story.
