Two injured in Cass County head-on collision

JEFFERSON TWP, Mich. --  The Cass County Sheriff reports his office is investigating a two car head on collision which occurred on Pine Lake Street near Mullen Road in Jefferson Township.

The early investigation shows Kevin Miller, 51, of Niles was eastbound on Pine Lake St. and Lucas Luth, 29, of Edwardsburg was westbound on Pine Lake St when the two vehicles collided.

Both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles by firefighters.

Both vehicles air bags deployed and both drivers appear to have been wearing seat belts.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

Both drivers were transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
