Two injured, vehicle split in half in Kosciusko County crash
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. – Two people were injured in a crash Wednesday morning in Van Buren Township, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office reported.
At 5:07 a.m., emergency crews were called to the intersection of S.R. 15 and C.R. 900 N. for reports of a crash involving multiple vehicles.
A preliminary investigation found that the driver of a 2004 Honda Accord was traveling westbound on C.R. 900 N. and failed to stop at S.R. 15.
The Honda pulled into the path of a 2016 Chrysler Town and County traveling northbound on S.R. 15.
The front of the Chrysler hit the driver’s side of the Honda and split the Honda in half.
The driver of the Honda was ejected from the vehicle and landed approximately 50 feet from the vehicle.
The driver and front seat passenger of the Honda were flown from the scene. The driver sustained critical injuries and the passenger sustained non-critical injures.
The driver and two minor passengers of the Chrysler refused treatment at the scene.
Two parked vehicles were also damaged at a residence on the northwest corner of the intersection.
