South Bend native competes for National Jr. Ranger
BERRIEN COUNTY, Ind. – The Berrien County Marine Unit and the U.S. Coast Guard rescued a pair of male kayakers after receiving a 911 call on Saturday.
According to the Berrien County Sherrif’s Office, one of the kayaks took on water and was at risk of sinking.
The two men were located a mile southwest of the St. Joseph Michigan South Pier.
Both kayakers were transported to U.S. Coast Guard Station in St. Joseph, Michigan and have been released.
No medical treatment was required.
The names of men are not known, but they are from Paw Paw, Michigan.
