Two killed in crash near Corby Boulevard, North Jacob Street
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - Two men were killed in a crash at the intersection of Corby Boulevard and North Jacob Street Sunday morning, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office.
At 4:15 a.m., an officer with the South Bend Police Department was near Corby and North Ironwood Drive when they saw a vehicle heading westbound with a headlight out.
When the officer turned around to stop the vehicle, the vehicle allegedly took off.
The officer ended the attempted traffic stop when it lost sight of the vehicle.
A few blocks away, the officer found the vehicle crashed into a tree, reports said.
The driver, 21-year-old Rashaun Leonard Mason, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger, identified as 26-year-old Jurell Fedrick, was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
This crash is still under investigation.
