Two men arrested with over four pounds of drugs, multiple guns, and 12 pitbulls
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A search warrant on a home in the 1000 block of Woodward Avenue on yielded South Bend Police Department officers eight guns, more than 1,500 grams of suspected Fentanyl, approximately 500 grams of suspected marijuana, and two arrests.
The two suspects in custody are 34-year-old Prescott Brown and 53-year-old Christopher Jimison.
They were ultimately arrested on multiple preliminary charges and transported to the St. Joseph County Jail, where they await formal charging decisions from the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.
Twelve pit bulls were also found at the home and were transferred to the care of the South Bend Animal Resource Center.
"All 12 dogs are being taken care of and came in extremely healthy," the SBARC said.
"Out of an abundance of caution for the officers and dogs' safety during this investigation happening at the property, animal control was called," said South Bend Director of Communication Allison Zeithammer. "This is not an uncommon thing that SBPD does when animals, especially there are multiple, are present during an investigation at a residence."
They did not indicate the age of the dogs.
SBPD said that two of the recovered guns were stolen and that multiple items of drug paraphernalia were also found.
