Two motorcyclists injured in Wednesday night crash

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. - The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports on Wednesday night around 10:05 p.m., two motorcyclists crashed into a 2011 Subaru Impresa at the intersection of S.R. 19 and Roseland Road.

Authorities' investigation indicates the Subaru, driven by a 20-year-old Elkhart woman, was traveling north on S.R. 19 just south of Roseland Road.

Two motorcycles, operated by a 44-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man, both of Elkhart, were traveling south on S.R. 19 at Roseland Road.

Authorities say this is when the Subaru made a westbound turn onto Roseland Road and failed to yield to oncoming southbound traffic.

Both motorcyclists then crashed into the Subaru's passenger side, causing the man and woman injuries.

The 44-year-old woman and 41-year-old man were both taken by ambulance to the hospital.

The woman was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, but the man was not.

The 20-year-old year old driver was also taken to the hospital for an injury sustained to her hand.

Officials say the crash remains under investigation.
