Two people injured and one arrested after a three-car crash in Elkhart

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – Two people are injured after a three-car crash on County Road 5 in Elkhart Tuesday afternoon, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office reported.

At 4:35 p.m., authorities arrived on the scene north of CR 1.

A Ford F-150 and Ford Taurus were northbound on CR 5 and nearing CR 1 when the driver of a Honda Accord crossed the center line.

This caused the F-150 to swerve off the road and strike a wood post, reports said.

The Honda Accord and the Ford Taurus collided head on. Both cars suffered heavy front-end damage.

The driver of the Honda Accord was Gabrielle Parrott. The 27-year-old female was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-prior, police reported.

Parrott complained of chest pain, and was transported to Elkhart General Hospital by police.

The driver of the Ford Taurus complained of pain as well and was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the Ford F-150 was uninjured.
