Two shootings take place within five minutes in South Bend
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Two shootings took place within five minutes of one another on the streets of South Bend, Saturday night.
The first of the shootings took place at the Discount Liquor Store at 10:52 p.m.
An female bystander was shot in the arm and leg. Medics took her to the hospital for treatment. She is expected to make a full recovery.
The second shooting happened at Portage Liquors, located on Portage Street, at 10:54 p.m.
An employee was shot in the mouth as someone attempted to rob the store. An ambulance rushed him to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The shootings are unrelated and police are still investigating.
