Two teens lead Michigan law enforcement agency on chase that ends in Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind. -- Two 17-year-olds were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center after they allegedly stole a Ford F150 and led authorities on a chase that started in Cass County, Mich. and ended in Elkhart.
The Elkhart Police Department says a call came in around 1:18 a.m. on Saturday, June 21 to assist the Cass County Sheriff's Office in the 1900 block of Osolo Road, in Elkhart.
The CCSO deputies were pursuing the stolen truck when the suspect abruptly stopped and the deputy crashed into the rear of the Ford.
"The occupants of the vehicle fled from the vehicle on foot," the EPD said.
"Officers with the Elkhart Police Department, the Elkhart County Sheriff`s Office and the Cass County Sheriff`s Office were able to locate the male driver of the Ford."
Authorities say the Ford had been stolen from a residence on Freda Drive, in Elkhart, overnight.
The truck’s owner arrived on the scene and reported that change was missing from the vehicle.
"The alleged driver, a 17-year-old male, was arrested for Theft of a Vehicle, Resisting Law Enforcement;, and Failure to Stop After an Accident, and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center," the EPD said.
"Cass County also located a male passenger that fled while armed with a firearm. This juvenile, also 17-years-old, was arrested for Resisting Law Enforcement and Dangerous Possession of a Firearm and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center."
During the investigation, several other victims were identified on Freda Drive that had items stolen from their vehicles and the case remains under investigation.
