Two-vehicle crash in Elkhart County results in injuries
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office reports a two-vehicle crash resulted in personal injuries Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 1:00 p.m., a 2014 Honda Civic driven by 54-year-old Julie Helman of South Bend, Indiana was traveling southeast on C.R. 45 just northwest of C.R. 15 when it was stuck by a 2001 Chevrolet Lumina, according to a press release.
Officials say Sandra Perach, 76, of Elkhart, Indiana was traveling northbound on C.R. 45, northwest of C.R. 15 in a 2001 Chevrolet Lumina when her vehicle traveled left of center colliding with Helman’s Lumina.
Authorities say both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
Perach was taken to Goshen Hospital for complaints of shoulder pain. A 61-year-old passenger of Helman’s vehicle, was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for chest pain.
Perach was issued a citation for driving left of center.
