Two-vehicle crash in Kosciusko County leaves one dead

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. - The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office reports they're investigating fatal a two-vehicle crash that occurred Monday around 5:55 p.m. at the intersection of South SR 13 and CR 1000 South.

Emergency responders arrived on scene and located a 2004 Buick LeSabre driven by 24-year-old Jason Jones of South Whitley, Ind. and a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by 61-year-old Susan Lewis of North Manchester, Ind.

Authorities say their preliminary investigation determined Jones was traveling eastbound on CR 1000 South and, failing to yield, pulled into the path of Lewis who was southbound on South SR 13.

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner, resulting from injuries sustained in the crash.

Lewis was transported to a Fort Wayne hospital for complaints of pain in her lower body.
