Two-vehicle crash leads to temporary bridge closure in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - St. Joseph County Dispatch confirmed the South Bend Fire Department responded to a two-car vehicle extrication near the 500 block of South Eddy Street around 3:15 a.m., Sunday.

 Officials say the crash happened around the Cooper Bridge in the 500 block of South Eddy Street, leading to the bridge being closed to all traffic as crews cleaned up the scene.

That bridge has since re-opened to all lanes.

One of the drivers was transported to a local hospital. The extent of the injuries is unknown currently.
