Multiple injured in two-vehicle crash on County Road 42

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Around 9:00 a.m. Friday, a 20-year-old Elkhart man was traveling east on County Road 42 with three passengers, approaching State Road 119, when it entered the intersection, failing to yield the right of way to a second vehicle, driven by a 65-year-old South Bend man with one passenger, causing the crash, according to officials.

The second vehicle struck the 20-year-old's vehicle, causing enough damage to the front end that the vehicle was no longer drivable, according to officials.

The Elkhart man's vehicle received minor cosmetic damage.

The report goes on to say after the initial collision, the South Bend man's vehicle spun around causing damage to the rear of the vehicle.

The 65-year-old driver was transported by EMS to Elkhart General Hospital for complaints of pain.

No other injuries were reported.
