UPDATE: Westbound lanes of US 20 Bypass reopen at C.R. 17 following three-vehicle crash; fatality confirmed

UPDATE AUG. 1: The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a three-vehicle crash in the westbound lanes of the US 20 Bypass just east of C.R. 13 around 2:55 p.m. Thursday.
The report states a 2017 Volvo semi-truck with trailer, driven by a 60-year-old Chicago man, rear-ended a 2004 Jeep Liberty, driven by 64-year-old Jerry Lamb of Nappanee.
The semi then pushed Lamb's Jeep into the rear of a Ford F550, driven by a 47-year-old New Haven, Ind. man.
Lamb was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger of the Ford, a 54-year-old Nappanee man, was taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital a laceration to the head.
Authorities say the crash remains under investigation.
UPDATE (7:01 P.M.): The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department has confirmed that there was a fatality in this crash.
Westbound lanes are now open to traffic.

ORIGINAL STORY: ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Elkhart County Dispatch confirmed to ABC57 that a call came in around 2: 56 p.m. Thursday for a two-vehicle crash on the US 20 Bypass.
The scene was still active as of 4:16 p.m.
At this time there are multiple lanes closed to traffic, with police directing traffic.
There's been no word on injuries or fatalities at this time.
