Two-vehicle crash on U.S. 31 leaves one driver hospitalized

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. - Indiana State Police is investigating a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 31.

On Tuesday, December 5, around 2:20 p.m., Marshall County Dispatch received a call regarding a crash between two pickup trucks on U.S. 31, near SR 110.

As ISP troopers arrived, the trucks were blocking northbound lanes.

Preliminary investigations found that a 54-year-old Silver Lake, Ind. male allegedly did not yield to northbound traffic as he was traveling southbound on U.S. 31 and planning to turn east on SR 110.

The Silver Lake male's truck was hit at the side by a 35-year-old Bonneville, Ky driver in the right northbound lane.

The 54-year-old driver was transferred to Memorial Hospital with serious, but with non-life-threatening injuries.

The second driver was not injured in the crash.

Northbound lanes were reopened less than two hours after.
