BERRIEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — An ultralight plane crashed in Berrien Township on Sunday morning. It happened in a wooded field off Old U.S. 31 around 9:30 a.m.
Pilot Brian Bowen of Niles left the Niles airport and was circling to return. That's when his plane's engine stopped.
Bowen's plane then crashed into a field. Bowen was not injured and he was the only person in the plane.
The plane has moderate damage as a result of that crash.
