Unique vehicle could give boost to Mich. manufacturing industry

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. -- Production has started on a unique vehicle that could give a boost to Michigan's manufacturing industry.

The new all-terrain vehicle that converts to a watercraft in five seconds.

It's called the Quadski and its creator says it gives the driver a new sense of freedom.

They chose Michigan specifically to create the new vehicle.

"We chose Michigan because we were looking for a fairly serious pool of talent," said Neil Jenkins, Gibbs Sports Amphibian Chair.  "We were unable to find the skills anywhere else in the states."

The company hopes to build 1,000 of them in the next year.
