UPDATE: Castile denied request to sit in on witness depositions

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Dellia Castile appeared in court Thursday morning for a hearing.

A judge denied her request to sit in on witness depositions. 

Castile is the mother of Terry Sturgis and the grandmother of 10-year-old Tramelle Sturgis. She is charged with neglect for not reporting the abuse that Terry, now a convicted murderer, conveyed upon his children which led to the death of Tramelle.  

Dellia Castile lived in the home where the abuse occurred.  She is scheduled to go to trial on October 1.
