UPDATE: Elkhart County extends burn ban for another week

ELKHART CO., Ind. -- We have an update about the burn ban restricting people from burning in Elkhart County.

ABC 57's Judi Lykowski just got off the phone with Jennifer Tobey, the Emergency Management Director of Elkhart County.

She told us that the burn ban has been extended through June 25.

The county commissioners can only issue a ban for seven days at a time.

The commissioners plan to meet again on Monday at 9 a.m., and will address this issue again.

Currently, 34 counties in Indiana are actively reporting burn bans. For more information about what areas are affected, click here.
