Update from bus crash with South Central Community Schools

UNION MILLS, Ind. -- South Central Community School Corporation releases an update regarding a school bus crash that occurred September 2 involving Bus 16-3 at S.R. 39 and C.R. 950 South.

16 students were on the bus at the time of the accident. Director of School Safety Gary Biggs responded to the scene along with law enforcement to ensure the safety and well-being of the students. The accident did not result in any injuries.

Preliminary information indicates that the driver of a Chevy Silverado dozed off while driving, causing the collision with the bus. Bus Driver Virginia Logan was making a right turn from S.R. 39 onto C.R. 950 South.

LaPorte County Sherif's Office is actively completing the crash report.
