EB, WB U.S. 12 lanes reopen following crash

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Eastbound and westbound lanes of U.S. 12 (Pulaski Highway) are closed.

According to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), both lanes of U.S. 12  at M-51 near 11th Street are closed due to a crash.

At approximately 4:40 a.m. officers with the Berrien County Sheriff's Department arrived at a personal injury accident in Niles Township on U.S. 12.

Arriving deputies discovered a single vehicle accident involving a pickup truck travelign east on U.S. 12 when the driver allegedly lost control, driving into the median before striking a tree.

The 27-year-old driver suffered injuries in teh crash and was airlifted to Memorial Hospital by Med Flight.

The accident is under investigation. 

According to MDOT, the incident has cleared.
