LA PORTE, Ind. -- The Indiana Department of Transportation is expanding its work on US 35/Indiana Avenue two blocks north for further road construction activities.

INDOT says US 35 will be closed between Warwick Street and Kingsbury Avenue beginning on or after July 13.

The detour route will remain S.R. 2, S.R. 39, and US 6.

The current closure between South and Kingsbury Avenues is expected to be completed in late August.

The work between Warwick Street and Kingsbury Avenue is expected to be ongoing through late September.

After these sections are completed, INDOT says construction will continue north, meeting up with the finished section between Maple Avenue and S.R. 2.
