U.S. Congressman Dan Burton announces retirement

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Republicans are losing a member on Capitol Hill.

After 30 years on the job, U.S. Congressman Dan Burton is retiring from Congress. The 73-year-old said he wants to spend more time with his family.

Burton was elected to Congress back in 1982. He represented Indiana’s 5th district. Before that, he served in both the Indiana House and Senate.
