A fire in South Bend leaves building ablaze
BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Holtec Decommissioning Inc. (HDI) are inviting community members to Benton Harbor on Aug. 1 to learn and ask questions about the potential restart of Palisades Nuclear Power Plant.
The NRC will discuss licensing, reviews and inspections for the possible power plant resumption, while the HDI will be speaking on current and planned activities for the potential restart.
An open house will start at 5:15 p.m. ET, then the meeting will run from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Grand Upton Hall at Lake Michigan College, 2755 E. Napier Avenue.
The meeting can be attended in person or online, but the open house is only offered in person as it is not suitable for online format. The meeting can be joined online at 6:00 p.m. through the following:
