USPS officials testify about budget issues

The books for the US Postal Service are in the red and Wednesday, key officials told congress just how bad things are getting.

The house oversight committee heard testimony about budget issues.

One congressman said the Postal Service is an unsustainable business.

"Even if you take away the $11 billion default over two years, the fact is, in the real world, the post office is bleeding red ink," said Representative Darrell Issa.

In March, a government report said the post office cannot legally stop mail delivery on Saturdays.
