Van Buren County cops respond to alligator call

MATTAWAN, Mich. -- Van Buren County sheriff's deputies got quite the surprise when they called about an alligator.

The three to four foot alligator found its way into the basement window well of a home on County Road 652 in Mattawan.

The animal got stuck in the window.

Deputies came out to rescue the gator.

They believe it either escaped from its owners or was just released.

If you have any information who may have owned the alligator, you are asked to call the Van Buren County Sheriff.
