ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – A bicyclist was hit and killed by a pickup truck on State Road 13 just south of Middlebury early Friday morning.
According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened around 4 a.m. when the truck was traveling north on SR 13, south of County Road 20 when driver, 28-year-old Derek Flynn of Syracuse, rear-ended the bicyclist.
The deceased victim has been identified as 57-year-old Freeman Miller of Middlebury.
Deputies say Miller was wearing a reflective vest and used the lights on his bike at the time of the crash.;
No charges have been filed at this time.
