Vehicle hits, kills 5-year-old in Michigan City

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. - Michigan City police are looking for a driver who struck and killed a 5-year-old girl – and did not stop to help.

It happened just before 6 P.M. Tuesday on the 300 block of Broadway Street.

Police say a vehicle hit the girl as she was trying to cross Broadway with her sister.

She later died at a hospital.

Police are looking for a black or dark grey SUV which may have a spare tire mounted on the rear.
